The Tejas Tubular Difference

Tejas Tubular Products, Inc. was founded in 1990 by Maximo A. Tejeda, Sr. In the early years, we only processed API tubing. The manufacturing of couplings and pup joints started in 1994 and in 2003 Tejas Tubular acquired Caporal Industries in Stephenville, Texas and began processing macaroni tubing. We built and opened our casing facility in 2005 to process larger diameter API casing and in 2011 Tejas Tubular opened the ERW tubing plant in Stephenville, Texas. Tejas Tubular has processed more than 14 million joints of tubing or casing.

Our growing number of manufacturing facilities, continuous modernization of production equipment, and our pioneering traceability and quality control systems, have helped us excel and expand our product offerings and increase bottom-line results systematically each year since the founding of Tejas Tubular, Inc.

At the core of these initiatives is our underlying corporate culture and operational experience. Tejas Tubular employees and executive management hold a firm and steadfast commitment to making Tejas Tubular Best-in-Class for the oilfield tubular industry.

Tejas Tubular has developed a variety of systems including:

  • Multi-Stage Frac Casing
  • Hot Sizing & Straightening after Quench & Temper Process
  • Joint by Joint Serialization Utilizing RFID
  • Hybrid Furnaces Utilizing Induction Heating and Natural Gas

We are committed to delivering the highest quality goods to our customers. I accordance with that commitment Tejas has developed a quality assurance manual that describes our quality management system and how it conforms to the requirements of the American Petroleum Institute (API) Spec Q1.

Quality Control

Tejas Tubular Products, Inc. is committed to customer satisfaction and continuous process improvement to make sure our clients are satisfied with our products and these products meet our clients' expectations.

Inspection System

We utilize inspection stacking horizontally and vertically across the production line. Vertically at product, production hardware, and process controls; and horizontally across each production step. This means that products are being inspected in accordance with Tejas Tubular procedures; the machines that are producing the products are being inspected on a regular schedule dictated by our quality assurance manual and quality procedures; and the process controls to perform these inspections are being controlled and validated by a highly qualified team of quality assurance professionals. This enables a proactive inspection process that increases yield, up-time, and efficiency, rather than a reactive model that only addresses problems as they surface.

Incoming product inspection

Our Quality Control Specialists evaluate and inspect all raw materials upon receipt to ensure total compliance with industry standards before processing begins. Tejas Tubular only processes quality goods that meet the metallurgical and mechanical requirements imposed by our stringent material specifications.

Customer supplied  material

All customer supplied products and materials are verified against industry standards and approved by our Quality Assurance Department prior to processing.

Traceability

Our Traceability Application System  provides different levels of tracking granularity in compliance with our client’s requirements. Each heat of material--- from receipt to the end product----or each individual field product, is fully traceable to provide finished product identification to help us monitor product performance in the field.

Certifications and Affiliations

Tejas Tubular Products, Inc. is committed to maintaining high quality products. In order to honor this commitment we have developed a quality assurance manual that describes our quality management system and how it conforms to the requirements of the American Petroleum Institute (API) Spec Q1. The API Specification Q1 outlines the requirements for the consistent and reliable production of parts manufactured in accordance with API specifications. An API license and authorization to monogram is issued only after a quality assurance manual has been submitted and approved and an onsite audit by an API representative has confirmed that the applicant adheres to the requirements of both Q1 and the appropriate API product specifications. Specification Q1 is consistent with the requirements of ISO 9000. While it is necessary to have a valid API license certificate to apply the API monogram, a manufacturer can produce products which meet API requirements without the license and mark the product only with the specification designation, for example “5CT” for casing or tubing. However many users require the use of the API monogram to insure that API is auditing the manufacturer on a regular basis.

The American Petroleum Institute has granted Tejas Tubular Products, Inc. the right to use the Official API Monogram® on manufactured products under the conditions in the official publications of the America Petroleum Institute entitled API Q1® and API Spec 5CT and API Spec 5DP.
